A Is For...

These small alphabet prints by artist Ryan Frease are maybe a little too edgy for your usual "cute" nursery but might be perfect for when your hipster Sims start having children, right? They'll also look great in any teen room, study or downtown bar, basically wherever you would need a framed letter.

26 letters (duh) on a base game mesh... can't remember what they cost in game, 50$ I think...

Joan Miró: Painting and Anti-Painting

Today I have some more Joan Miró art for you. I wanted to use some of his less known work, not the usual Miró prints you can find more or less everywhere, and I stumbled upon the website of this exhibition at the MoMA, "Joan Miró, Painting and Anti-Painting 1927-1937". I used base game meshes so they should be compatible but your game (probably) needs to be patched. 16 prints/drawings/collages/paintings on the smaller vertical mesh, and another 16 on the 2-tile horizontal mesh, they cost 190$ and 250$ respectively in the game.

It will be a while until my next upload, I'll be away for three weeks, for work and then visiting my family. I'll be back around the second week of December with some fresh inspiration!

Cattitudes

A small update today, a little bit more "cute" than usual, but after all the headaches Pets has given us we deserve something back from these little furry creatures, don't we?

The original "Cats In Clothes" art is by the very talented Heather Mattoon (check her Etsy site here). I used a base game mesh so it should be compatible, but I made it with the latest version of TSRW so I really think your game at least needs to be patched. 12 lovely kitties in one file.

Something Old, Something New

The third and final part of my The Rug Company rugs, this time two different rugs on a new mesh (thank you Bau again) slightly wider than the previous ones, this one is about 2,5x3,5 tiles.

The first one includes 16 modern or contemporary designs, plus the two usual CAStable options I've been including in the narrower ones.

(FIXED FOR PETS, both formats)

The second one includes another 16 designs, more traditional (Aubusson, Ushak, Amristar and other Oriental rugs). I didn't include the CAStable options here because it's the same mesh and anyway CASting the rugs with an all-over pattern turn out sort of contemporary looking so... whatever.

Town and Country

First of all, sorry for the delay, I had these made for a while already but the whole Pets/patch thing came in between... I've added fixed versions of all my previous files, which you can find in the original posts (walls didn't need fixing). Starting from this post all downloads will be Pets compatible, but for this update and the next few I still have the unfixed files if you need them. From then on anything new will be made with the new version of TSRW so I won't be able to provide pre-patch stuff anymore.

Anyway, now to the fun part. Today I have a new rug, on a new mesh (thank you Bau for all your help!) slightly wider than the previous one, this one is about 3,5x2,25 tiles, 16 designs from The Rug Company ranging from antique to modern.

And of course two totally CAStable versions with different tiling just like the previous one.

At your feet

16 rugs from The Rug Company on a new mesh by Bau, the first of a few sets I'll be releasing.  This particular mesh is 3,5 x 2,125 tiles, so it's rather narrow, suitable for smaller spaces.

I have to say that I realized when I had made these that some of the designs had been released previously by LemonJelly... well, The Rug Company is a very famous... err... rug company so these things happen, we both drew our inspiration from the same source. Hers are larger so both can be a nice addition to your game and can complement each other, I think.

Cloned on a base game rug so should be compatible.

16 designs in one file:

I've also included two CAStable options in the file with different tiling (so you can make the pattern smaller or larger) which will give a nice plushy look to any pattern you apply. Showing here in plain white:

In all likeness

I know it's been a while, but I finally have an update for you, it's all about portraits this time. First of all a series of 9 small historical engravings on Mango's "Alizé" drawing mesh (you don't need the original but still you should have it because it's a lovely addition to your game).

Here's a close up (click for a bigger view), from left to right and top to bottom: Mirabeau, Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon, Louis XVI, Charles III and Philip V of Spain, Benjamin Franklin, Floridablanca and Buffon. I found these on internet and, really, it's a quite unlikely collection of characters but I guess someone put them together for some reason...

(FIXED FOR PETS, both formats)

Next is a recolor of the base game oval portrait. I changed the multiplier for the frame to make it look more antique, in all there's 16 portraits from the XVIIIth century by, among others, Thomas Gainsborough, Joshua Reynolds, Gilbert Stuart, John Singleton Copley and Louise Élizabeth Vigée Le Brun. Sorry the file is quite large but I wanted the images to have a nice quality...

And last but not least, 6 recolors of the Jazz Age photos from the EA store, cloned on a base game painting (so you don't need the original either). I tried to make diverse types of families with different backgrounds and ethnicities, all the pictures are either from the EA store website or other "official" Sim pictures I found here and there.

Fractional Walls

I uploaded a set of walls at MTS, just simple walls with the dado at different heights: 1/2, 2/3 and 3/4, but I thought they might come in handy for decorating. Grab them here.

For a list of CC used in the screenshots check my post at MTS.  ;)

Joan Miró Art Prints and Mural

Today I have small update for you, dedicated to the work of the famous Catalan Spanish artist Joan Miró (1893-1983).

First a collection of 20 art prints, mostly from the 50's and 60's, on a simple base game EA mesh. They cost 90$ and I think they're really nice to give a touch of artiness to your young Sim's starter homes, or to decorate where an actual painting would be just a little too much.

(FIXED FOR PETS, both formats)

And a four-piece ceramic mural, which you can use indoors or outdoors to add a touch of Mid-Century architectural class. Each part costs 15$ and can be found in the "Wall Sets" category.

Blast From The Past Blog Train

First of all I'd like to thank RD for trusting me enough to invite me to this blog train, before I had even learned how to create my own CC for Sims 3 and I had almost nothing to show for myself, this makes this post my first real official release, and it probably would have happened much later if it were not for this project. And I'd also like to thank the very talented Bau from B5Studio, who has patiently guided me through the whole process, has created a special mesh for one of the sets and has modified an original mesh by Pilar (muchas gracias Pilar también) for the wall plates.

So many men, so little time.

By popular demand, some of my favorite male sims previously posted at GOS at GSC, hope you like them. They have quite balanced features, so they also look good as females and should breed nicely.

I used quite a minimum of CC and some EP stuff, but if you don't have them nothing will happen really except that they will show up with whatever replacement the game thinks fit and some make-up you'll have to remove. Another thing than can happen is that they show up sort of grayish in CAS, if so select a skintone and a hair color and they'll go back to normal. In any case if you want a base game CC free version please let me know.

I had a very hard time taking the pics and they weren't collaborating either, making silly idle faces, but TAMO's tutorial was a great help. I was lucky with Jason but not so much with poor Iker, he's really cuter in-game, believe me!

I didn't use sliders but I did have the AWESOME MOD the first time I made them, and the MASTER CONTROLLER when I fine-tuned them to share, so I don't know...

To install just drop in your SavedSims folder (documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 3 > SavedSims)

BASIC CC:

Default body skin by TUMMYZA
Default eyes by TAMO
And if you want to... enhance your Sims a little, KITTIKLAN's "JUNK" is a must.

HRH Prince Henry of Magstadt

If you are in want of a new Monarch for your Kingdom seek no more, my good Ladies and Lords, His Royal Highness Prince Henry, of the ancient and illustrious house of Magstadt, is a most suitable candidate to the Throne.

This noble Prince of the highest rank and merit has received a superlative education, being of Scholarly disposition, and his Vanity is compensated for by his many other virtues and qualities.

But, aye, one fatal flaw has been passed on through generations of the House of Magstadt: licentiousness. It is to be hoped that the affairs of the State will keep this worthy Pince's mind off these worldly temptations.

Place in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims Medieval > SavedSims

If you don't have a SavedSims folder you can either create it yourself or save a Sim to the bin in CAS and the game will generate it.

This Sim will show up in the CAS bin when starting a new game.
